Please be considerate of your fellow students...
Finals are upon us and we do an enormous amount of testing in the library. Please remember to be quiet and to turn your cell phones off when you get into the library. It is very distracting for people taking tests to have someone's phone go off or a group talking loudly. I wish I had more room for people to study in groups and I hope in the future to have a testing center. Thanks for your understanding in this matter and good luck on your finals!

Bon Voyage to Paulette
Greetings, I hope you are enjoying "Bookends". I was fortunate to relax in the wonderful northwoods of Ely for the 4 day MEA break. Hope you had some time to relax too. The library work study position is filled. Paulette Ward who has been with the library for the past 2 years will be leaving to pursue her Medical Office career with Meritcare. Please stop by and wish her well as her last day in the Library will be this Thursday. She has been a wonderful asset to the library and will be missed greatly. Rose Hellquist will be joining myself and Mike Ferdig as our newest member of the library team. Please welcome Rose and Mike.
Just a couple of reminders; please be careful with the dvd's, we have gotten a lot of them back and they are very scratched and unusable. Please do not lay them down anywhere but their case. I've had to replace quite a few of them and my budget can't afford that. Thank you.

"In the Family" documentary to be shown at NTC
At 31, filmmaker Joanna Rudnick faces an impossible decision: remove her breasts and ovaries or risk incredible odds of developing cancer. Armed with a genetic test result that leaves her vulnerable and confused, she balances dreams of having her own children with the unnerving reality that she is risking her life by holding on to her fertility. In the Family follows Joanna as she connects with other women trying to navigate the unpredictable world of predictive genetic testing. Intensely personal and timely, In the Family asks: How much do you sacrifice to survive?
This film will be shown for Breast Cancer awareness month Tuesday Oct. 21 in Room 261 (Nursing classroom).Dialog to follow with a panel of cancer survivors, medical personel and NTC Nursing Faculty. Bring a friend, popcorn and beverages provided.

Library Work Study Position Available
There is a work study position in the Library available. You must be able to work early evenings. Computer experience is helpful but we will train. Due to the amount of tests proctored, I cannot employ a nursing student :( Please come and see me in the Library if you are interested! Have a great day.

Welcome to the NTC Library Blog!
Greetings!
Welcome to "Bookends" the new Library Blog for NTC. This was created for students, faculty and staff to better communicate your needs and ideas for our library. I will periodically post reviews of books and other materials for the library, let you know what books, dvd's, and other materials are new in the library. We will also post messages about library hours and early closings. I will also update you on any events that the library is sponsoring such as our Women's History Month movie night, book signings etc. We will also have an area of recommended reading, please feel free to leave your comments on what books or movies you have seen that we could showcase in that area.
If you have any other suggestions feel free to blog them to me!!
